Desert trail beneath a wide, cloud-filled sky

First Walk

Your first gathering

Your First Walk Starts Here.

You do not need hiking experience, perfect faith, or all the answers. Come as you are. We will walk together.

Welcome

Come exactly as you are.

Everyone was new once. Everyone belongs.

A Hike With God brings people together in nature to walk, breathe, listen, reflect, and have honest conversations about life and God. Participation is always invitational. You are welcome to speak, listen, reflect silently, or take the next step at your own pace.

“Stay on the path and go at your pace.”

— Nathaniel A’mon

What makes us different

We are not just hiking.

We are slowing down. Listening. Reflecting. Building community. Discovering God’s presence through creation.

We do not force conversations. We create space for them. No one is expected to perform, preach, or disclose anything personal.

Your first experience

A simple rhythm for the trail

  1. Arrival: Check in, meet the group, and settle in.
  2. Welcome: Learn the purpose and tone of the gathering.
  3. Orientation: Review the trail, safety expectations, and group pace.
  4. Scripture and prayer: Receive a brief invitation for the walk.
  5. Walk: Move, talk, listen, and notice.
  6. Selah: Pause, breathe, and become still.
  7. Reflection: Consider or share what surfaced.
  8. Closing blessing: Honor the experience and one another.
  9. Carry forward: Take the reflection beyond the trail.

Before you come

A few practical steps

  • Review the trail distance, elevation, difficulty, and expected weather.
  • Complete the participant waiver before the walk.
  • Wear comfortable trail shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Bring water, sun protection, a small snack, and any personal medication you may need.
  • Arrive early enough to check in and meet the group.
  • Tell the walk leader privately about any mobility, medical, or accessibility concern that may affect your experience.

You may also bring a journal or an A Hike With God Field Guide if you would like space to capture what surfaces.

Walking together

This is a shared journey, not a race.

We respect the trail, honor the stated pace, and look out for one another. Your first walk does not require certainty. It only requires a willingness to begin.
