There is more than one way to take part in A Hike With God. You may come to walk, help prepare the gathering, care for the trail, welcome others, or grow into a leadership role. Service begins with presence—not position.
Come as you are
Participation is not a test of belief.
A Hike With God is Christ-centered in its leadership and open to people across faiths, traditions, identities, and seasons of life. You do not have to claim a particular religious identity to walk with us or offer your gifts in service.
Prayer, Scripture, reflection, conversation, and silence may be part of a gathering. We invite participation without pressure and trust the Creator with what each person receives.

Join a Gathering
Begin by walking with the group. Experience the rhythm, meet the community, and learn what the journey feels like before taking on responsibility.
Welcome & Hospitality
Help people check in, feel noticed, understand the gathering, and find their place without being pressured to perform or disclose.
Trail Support
Assist with route preparation, headcounts, pacing, supplies, carpools, and communication under the direction of a Journey Guide or Trail Steward.
Reflection & Story
Offer a reflection, journal prompt, image, or trail story that creates room for thought. Sharing is an invitation—not preaching, teaching, or a claim to speak for another person.
Creation & Community Care
Support cleanups, Leave No Trace practices, service projects, and thoughtful care for the places and communities that receive us.
Behind-the-Scenes Support
Help with scheduling, supplies, event preparation, communication, photography with consent, or other practical work that helps the gathering remain steady.
Leadership pathways
Responsibility grows through preparation and trust.
Journey Partners, Journey Guides, and Trail Stewards hold different kinds of responsibility. These roles are developed through participation, preparation, demonstrated care, safety awareness, accountability, and alignment with the Community and Leadership Covenants.
No one needs a title to serve. Leadership is stewardship, and every person remains responsible for their own choices and pace.
