Before participating in any “A Hike with God” event, all participants are required to sign a liability waiver. This is a standard practice for outdoor activity groups and helps protect both our participants and the organizers.
Why is a waiver required?
Hiking and other outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Slips, trips, and falls
- Injuries from uneven terrain, rocks, and roots
- Encounters with wildlife
- Weather-related issues (heatstroke, hypothermia, lightning)
- Accidents or unforeseen circumstances
The liability waiver acknowledges your understanding of these risks and your agreement to release “A Hike with God,” its leaders, and volunteers from liability for any injuries or damages that may occur during participation.
How do I sign the waiver?
- Online: You will be required to read and agree to the terms of the liability waiver during the online membership registration process or when signing up for a specific hike through our website.
- In Person: For first-time participants or those who haven’t signed online, a paper copy of the waiver will be available to read and sign before the start of the hike.
